The Pilgrim Heart and Lung Fund has just purchased £23,000 worth of equipment for the Coronary Care Unit at Pilgrim Hospital (some of which is pictured being presented) and £4,000 worth of monitoring equipment for 6A.
The equipment for CCU is to provide a system of assessing and monitoring patients in whom a diagnosis of myocardial infarction is difficult or uncertain.
The units for 6A would be used to assess patients more closely by monitoring blood pressure, pulse, temperature and Oxygen saturation.
